Resplendent is a creative and social media agency based in Austin, TX, working with hospitality, food and beverage, CPG, and lifestyle brands. We focus on thoughtful social strategy, strong creative execution, and data-informed decision-making that supports real business goals. We’re hiring a Senior Social Media Manager (Paid & Organic) to independently manage client social media accounts, lead strategy and planning, and support the growth of our social team. This role is intended for someone ready to operate with increased autonomy, stronger strategic ownership, and deeper accountability.
Role Overview
The Senior Social Media Manager is responsible for owning the day-to-day strategy, execution, and performance of assigned client social media accounts. This role operates with limited oversight and serves as a trusted client-facing lead across multiple accounts.
In addition to account ownership, this role supports junior team members through guidance, review, and delegation, while contributing to department-wide improvement through platform expertise, reporting quality, campaign performance, and evolving best practices.
This role is designed for a highly strategic senior contributor who can operate independently while collaborating closely with department leadership.
What You’ll Do
Client Ownership and Communication
Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned social media clients.
Lead client communications related to content planning, campaign performance, and strategy discussions.
Translate client goals into clear social media priorities and execution plans.
Build trust through proactive communication, follow-through, and sound judgment.
Manage and delegate tasks to junior team members, ensuring deadlines, quality, and client expectations are met while keeping leadership informed of progress and needs.
Ensure all client SOW deliverables are executed in full within contract deadlines, surfacing any hurdles or opportunities to leadership in a timely manner.
Own day-to-day account management and execution while escalating key strategic decisions, challenges, and opportunities as needed.
Strategy and Content Planning
Develop and lead monthly social media strategies in collaboration with the team.
Lead content calendar planning, including campaign themes, platform-specific formats, launches, and key seasonal moments.
Contribute to larger campaign and brand marketing initiatives by aligning social strategy with broader business goals.
Adjust strategy based on performance data, seasonality, platform changes, audience behavior, and client needs.
Identify opportunities to improve engagement, audience growth, content performance, and campaign effectiveness across platforms.
Content Direction and Oversight
Set creative direction for social content and campaigns with oversight from leadership.
Own as well as delegate content creation and copywriting across multiple client verticals.
Develop clear creative briefs, shot lists, and content direction for photo and video shoots.
Guide platform-native creative concepts that align with trends while maintaining strong brand identity.
Review and approve captions, visuals, videos, and deliverables to ensure alignment with strategy, voice, and quality standards.
Ensure content quality, consistency, and execution across all client platforms.
Analytics, Reporting, and Optimization
Analyze organic and paid social performance using Sprout Social, native platform insights, and reporting tools.
Track key performance indicators including engagement, reach, saves, video performance, audience growth, clicks, conversions, and campaign effectiveness.
Benchmark performance against industry and platform norms to provide strategic context and recommendations.
Write clear, actionable insights and recommendations for monthly client reporting.
Identify performance trends and strategic opportunities across accounts to improve engagement, reach, conversions, and overall campaign effectiveness.
Use data to inform testing, optimization, creative iteration, and future content decisions.
Paid & Integrated Social Strategy
Support the development and execution of integrated organic and paid social campaigns across client accounts.
Collaborate with internal leadership and paid media partners to align creative, targeting, and campaign objectives.
Identify opportunities for paid amplification based on organic content performance and campaign goals.
Contribute to audience strategy, campaign ideation, testing recommendations, and creative optimization.
Review paid social performance metrics and incorporate learnings into broader content and platform strategy.
Maintain a strong understanding of paid social best practices, platform advertising tools, and evolving performance trends across Meta, TikTok, and emerging platforms.
New Business & Growth Support
Collaborate with leadership on social media scopes, strategic recommendations, and integrated campaign planning for prospective clients.
Support new business efforts by contributing social strategy recommendations, campaign ideas, and platform expertise during proposal development.
Help identify paid and organic social opportunities that align with client goals and business objectives.
Participate in select new business conversations and presentations as a social media subject matter expert when needed.
Contribute creative ideas, audience insights, and platform recommendations that strengthen agency pitches and proposals.
Platform Expertise and Team Support
Stay up to date on platform updates, emerging trends, new features, and evolving content formats.
Evaluate platform changes for client relevance and guide implementation recommendations across accounts.
Share learnings, best practices, and strategic recommendations with the social team.
Delegate and review executional tasks completed by Social Media Coordinators or interns.
Provide guidance, feedback, and light mentorship to junior team members.
Contribute to improving internal processes, workflows, and creative standards within the department.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in social media management, ideally in an agency or multi-client environment.
Proven experience independently managing social media accounts from planning through reporting.
Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, and short-form video best practices.
Working knowledge of paid social strategy and campaign performance metrics.
Excellent copywriting skills and ability to maintain brand voice consistency across multiple brands.
Strong creative instincts with an understanding of platform-native content and evolving digital trends.
Comfort presenting strategy, creative direction, and performance insights to clients.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and make informed strategic recommendations.
